ERS-Campus is a special edition of GlobeCom21’s Enterprise Resilience Solution (ERS), it is specifically adapted for use by universities, using special risk, mitigation and response libraries and functionalities.

Educational institutions must be committed to making things happen for students rather than letting things happen to them. Schools and universities need to treat security and safety as one of their top priorities.
No school can ever be 100% safe, but we owe it to our students and communities to have the best available safety plans in place.

Most universities and enterprises prepare an emergency plan under a name like EMERGENCY AND CRISIS MANAGEMENT PLAN or similar title. This document is typically prepared by a team comprised of the internal as well as external safety and security experts and authorities of a university. It primarily covers the risks that threaten the university environment, its population, facilities and assets.

“We have an emergency plan”

ERS-CampusTM is a university safety and security solution. As a risk and crises management platform it facilitates the convergence of educational communities’ resilience with their freedom of movement and behavior.

With ERS-Campus universities will be able to quickly convert their printed or static documents to a full-blown online risk and emergency management system with several immediate benefits, but also with a host of added functionality ready to be ex- plored, valued and incorporated.

  • ERS-Campus™ creates a dynamic version of the University Emergency & Crisis Management Plan on-line with intelligence behind it. Risks and mitigations and plans of action are all classified categorized and linked together. It incorporates the plan and thus extends its usefulness; the system is more automatic, less prone to interpretation and error. (When an emergency happens, you don’t want to go through a long printed document. Updates of static documents are difficult & costly, even if they are kept in a digital document management system, you can easily end up with outdated documents).
  • ERS-Campus can have different users with different permissions, users can work simultaneously, users can discuss, the system learns, the system makes suggestions, there is a library of best practices, you can be connected with other institutions & experts, ERS Campus doesn't share the responsibility, but it does share the burden.
  • ERS-Campus sends detailed tasks & info electronically to first responders wherever they are, and they can access the system remotely, they can also interact with the system in real time, people & supplies can be switched with 'one mouse- click’. (So first responders & volunteers do not need to carry documents or know their tasks & responsibilities by heart).
  • ERS-Campus automatically notifies and alerts all pre-assigned parties, automatically assembles the proper plan of action which it loads in to a virtual command and control center, which is automatically activated and ready to conduct operations to oversee the crisis, and it lets all stakeholders cooperate in a predefined though flexible manner. ERS- Campus automatically keeps track of tasks and status by all means possible, and integrates everything in a 'dashboard', which is accessible remotely.
  • Pre-authorized local government agencies will automatically receive an alert with an invitation to participate in the virtual command and control with access to the same executive dashboard.
  • The system assembles all the stakeholders, first responders, emergency managers, university executives, emergency agencies, students, faculty, staff, parents, the neighboring community and others and generates the proper message tailored for each one of them based on their roles and responsibilities and delivers all that to the notification system for dissemination.
  • ERS-Campus is a 'watertight' system, you can only assign people & assets to tasks if they are in the system, the system warns if a tasks can not be executed, the system warns if a risk has no prevention or response. When during a crisis a person or supply is not available, automatically the next best option will be activated.
  • Matching incidents with a response can be a challenge (a car accident with a car on fire, is it a car accident, or a fire?) ERS-Campus has an expert system that guides you through the possible matches between incidents and responses in a fast and effective, but not rigid way, it starts giving cues to needed responses before an end match is made, and it is a learning & adapting system. It is an expert system that has library of all possible risks/incidents. The system makes sure all incidents have a valid response. It gets updated and learns from incidents that have happened.
  • The ERS-Campus system can be approached from different angles: start with risk go to response, see list of all responses, see list of first responders for one or more responses, see responses per role or person, see total supplies needed for a specific location, see assets per role/person or per prevention, see all possible notifications in the system, etc.
